This project was undertaken as a technical exercise to establish the level of image quality that I could achieve when visualising architecture. The goal was to visualise a modern residential building of my own design, using photography and CGI to create realistic representations of the building exterior and interiors.

The resulting images are primarily CGI, which accounts for the majority of scene content and the image rendering itself. The building and its interiors were modelled using Cinema4D, this includes the interior materials, which use photographic images for the most part to create more realistic surfaces. Materials such as metals have been done procedurally.

Photography has also played a key role in the production of these images, not just in rendered materials, but also photographed scenes have been used to provide backgrounds for exterior shots, and where views through windows are visible. Of course final editing of the rendered images was done in Photoshop, where I adjusted levels to achieve a more dynamic lighting balance.
